WILDERNESS TOURS AND THE OTTAWA RIVER
With cooperation of Mother Nature and Quebec and Ontario Hydro, this promises to be one of the best World’s ever. The Ottawa is a freestylers paradise. Big wave surfers will have 4 exciting venues to choose from - Mini and Big Bus at the Lorne Rapids and the Gladiator and Big Kahuna at Coliseum.
High water introduces the world famous Bus Eater. From the air the Bus Eater looks like a giant mouth smiliing after devouring paddlers. Even the entrance is exciting with a sling shot with a ski rope. River left is Mini Bus and river right is Big Bus. No you don’t have the option of doing both - its one or the other depending on water levels. Spectators have a wonderful view from either side.
Higher and lower water will move the event to Coliseum Rapids. When Bus Eater washes out Gladiator forms producing an awe-inspiring wave. Levels lower than Bus Eater will see us back to Coliseum for the Big Kahuna wave.
DO KEEP IN MIND THE OTTAWA WILL BE ICE COLD THIS TIME OF YEAR. YOU WILL NEED DRY TOP, BOOTIES, SKULL CAP, GLOVES ETC.
